Certificates that stand for something checkable.

A training certificate usually certifies attendance — which is why nobody checks them. Future Proof’s certificates sit on top of verification data: what was demonstrated, at what depth, when last confirmed. Branded beautifully, yes. Backed by evidence, actually.

The certificate inflation problem, and its fix

Certificates inflated the way any unbacked currency does: when completing a click-through earns the same artefact as demonstrating mastery, the artefact’s information value falls to zero — and auditors, hiring managers and partner organisations have duly stopped reading them. The paper isn’t the problem; the nothing behind it is.

Backing restores value. When a certificate issues against verification — adaptive questioning demonstrated this material, at this depth, on these dates — checking it becomes worthwhile again. And when its validity tracks measured currency rather than a hopeful two-year default, ‘certified’ starts meaning what everyone always pretended it meant: knows it now.

The check behind the certificate

Every certificate carries its evidence reference: the requirement, the verification history, the issue context. Whoever needs to trust it can trace it.

Renewal that respects reality

Calendar expiry where frameworks demand it; currency-based renewal where they allow it — with the practice engine keeping holders current instead of letting them cliff-edge at expiry.

Questions buyers ask

Can we keep issuing completion certificates too?

Yes — some frameworks require exactly that, and the platform issues them. The verified tier exists alongside, for the credentials you want to mean something.

How does external verification work?

Each certificate carries a reference that resolves to its evidence summary — enough for an auditor or partner to confirm substance without accessing anything private.

Do certificates expire automatically?

Per policy: fixed terms, currency-tracked terms, or non-expiring — set per requirement. The dashboard shows the whole estate’s currency either way.

Can employees take certificates with them?

The artefact is theirs; the evidence reference keeps working. What alumni certificates attest is issue-time verification — clearly dated, honestly scoped.

What does the research say about microcredentials?

Employers value them exactly as much as they trust what’s behind them — which is the entire argument of this page. The microcredentials research review covers the evidence.
